I met up with Harman and Kenny at their beloved UC Davis campus where they first met. Halfway through the session, we switched gears and the couple changed into their cultural clothes. Now this is common with couples from the subcontinent; it gives them a way to honor their tradition.

I saw the new fits and was immediately inspired to try something different. We drove around Davis, racing against the sunset, looking for the perfect backdrop to transport us to a different time and place.

We found the Punjab in Davis! I swear this reminded me of my uncle’s fields back home.

An ultimate #tbt is when you post a maternity session AFTER the baby is born!

I shot this maternity session in Oakland for our friends Sandy and Ken earlier this year. And just this week, Naima and I had the pleasure of meeting their beautiful baby for the first time.

Their baby was made out of love, joy, and a cool Jay-Bey-like vibe, and their connection before becoming parents is a testament to those feelings.
