Its Thanksgiving week, the calm before the holiday storm, and in this moment of pause there is a lot to reflect on and be thankful for.
The Bailony’s were like my second family away from home when I used to live in San Diego. Even every time I visit now, 12 years and still going. So you can imagine my excitement and how honored I felt to photograph Lina’s wedding to Mohammad. I love their dynamic together and their sweet nature. We are thankful for our sisters and daughters marrying good guys from good families.
Lina’s grandmother from Syria has been staying with them in San Diego for the last several months, having escaped the Syrian government raging bloodshed on its people going on right now. We are thankful for our safety and well-being here in the States, with our families healthy and free from violence and oppression.
Big thanks to Leylla for helping me with coverage. Some of the images here were taken by her.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Stay blessed.
